Are you ready to make a difference beyond your chapter? Serving as a Mississippi Educators Rising State Officer is one of the highest honors available to an Educators Rising member. State Officers represent members from across Mississippi while developing leadership, communication, teamwork, and professional skills that will benefit them long after high school.

As a State Officer, you'll have the opportunity to inspire future educators, advocate for the teaching profession, and help shape the future of Mississippi Educators Rising.

State Officer Responsibilities

State Officers are expected to:

⭐ Attend the State Officer Leadership Retreat.
⭐ Participate in Executive Board and planning meetings.
⭐ Assist with the Fall Leadership Conference.
⭐ Attend all conference rehearsals.
⭐ Help plan and facilitate the State Leadership Conference.
⭐ Represent Mississippi Educators Rising at conferences, workshops, and special events.
⭐ Promote Educators Rising throughout the state.
⭐ Serve as positive role models for members.
⭐ Complete assigned officer duties and committee work throughout the year.


Eligibility Requirements

Applicants must:

⭐ Be a current affiliated Mississippi Educators Rising member.
⭐ Be in good academic and disciplinary standing.
⭐ Demonstrate leadership potential and professionalism.
⭐ Receive advisor approval.
⭐ Be able to fulfill all State Officer responsibilities and attend required meetings and events.

Applicants may not simultaneously serve as a state officer for another Career and Technical Student Organization (CTSO) or student organization while serving as a Mississippi Educators Rising State Officer. This requirement ensures that State Officers are able to fully dedicate their time, leadership, and commitment to serving the members and mission of Mississippi Educators Rising.


Election Process

The State Officer selection process includes:

⭐ Submit a completed State Officer Application by the deadline.
⭐ Obtain advisor approval.
⭐ Complete all required application materials by the deadline.
⭐ Participate in the State Officer Candidate Process during the State Leadership Conference.
⭐ Deliver a campaign speech and participate in any required interviews or campaign activities.
⭐ Officers are elected by voting delegates representing Mississippi Educators Rising chapters.

Each officer and thier advisor serves as a member of the Mississippi Educators Rising Executive Board Team.
