Mississippi Educators Rising Chapter Presidents Council
Purpose
The Mississippi Educators Rising Chapter Presidents Council is a statewide leadership network designed to connect Chapter Presidents from across Mississippi. Through collaboration, networking, and leadership development, members will share ideas, celebrate chapter successes, receive updates from the Mississippi State Officer Team, and strengthen Educators Rising programs throughout the state.
The Council serves as a direct connection between local chapters and the Mississippi State President, ensuring Chapter Presidents are informed, prepared, and empowered to lead successful chapters.
Goals
Members of the Chapter Presidents Council will:
⭐ Develop leadership and communication skills.
⭐ Build relationships with Chapter Presidents from across Mississippi.
⭐ Share successful chapter activities, projects, and recruitment ideas.
⭐ Learn best practices for growing and strengthening local chapters.
⭐ Receive updates and announcements regarding state and national programs.
⭐ Enhance their college applications, scholarships, and résumés by demonstrating meaningful student leadership experience.
Membership
Membership is open to the Chapter President of each Mississippi Educators Rising chapter.
If a Chapter President is unable to attend a meeting, another chapter officer may attend the meeting in his/her place.
Meeting Schedule
The Chapter Presidents Council will meet three times each school year:
Fall Presidents Council Meeting
Held prior to the Fall Leadership Conference.

Held prior to the State Leadership Conference.

⭐ Celebration of chapter successes

Expectations of Members
Chapter Presidents are expected to:
⭐ Attend all scheduled Council meetings whenever possible.
⭐ Actively participate in discussions and activities.
⭐ Share chapter successes, ideas, and challenges.
⭐ Represent their chapter professionally.
⭐ Communicate important information from the Council to their chapter members and advisor.
⭐ Encourage chapter participation in state and national opportunities.
⭐ Serve as a positive role model within their school and community.

Advisor Information
Chapter Advisors play an important role in supporting the success of their Chapter President and the Chapter Presidents Council. Advisors are encouraged to:
⭐ Submit the Chapter President's name and contact information (along with the names and contact information of other chapter officers for statewide communication).
⭐ Encourage the Chapter President to attend all Chapter Presidents Council meetings whenever possible.
⭐ Encourage active participation in discussions, networking activities, and leadership development sessions.
⭐ Discuss key takeaways with the Chapter President following each Council meeting.
