Student Ambassador

Purpose

The Student Ambassador Recognition Program provides Educators Rising members with an opportunity to develop leadership, professionalism, and service skills while assisting with the operation of the Mississippi Educators Rising State Leadership Conference.

Student Ambassadors serve as representatives of Mississippi Educators Rising and play a vital role in ensuring conference activities run smoothly. Through service and leadership, Student Ambassadors gain valuable experience while supporting fellow members, advisors, judges, and conference staff.

NOTE: Each chapter may submit up to three (3) nominations for Student Ambassador.

Application Submission Requirements
Your Student Ambassador application is not considered complete until both of the following have been submitted:

  • The completed application has been uploaded through the designated Google Form.

  • The application includes all required signatures.

Applications that are missing the uploaded application or any required signatures will be considered incomplete and will not be accepted. Late or incomplete submissions will not be reviewed.

Eligibility

To be eligible to serve as a Student Ambassador, students must:
⭐ Be a currently affiliated Educators Rising member in good standing.
⭐ Be registered for the Mississippi Educators Rising State Leadership Conference.
⭐ Be recommended by their chapter advisor.
⭐ Demonstrate professionalism, responsibility, and leadership potential.
⭐ Be willing to serve during assigned conference times and complete all assigned duties.

Student Ambassadors play an essential role in the success of the Mississippi Educators Rising State Leadership Conference. Due to their conference responsibilities, Student Ambassadors are not permitted to compete in any competitive event during the State Leadership Conference.

Selection Process

Student Ambassador applications must be submitted by the student and approved by the chapter advisor.

Selection will be based on:
⭐ Demonstrated leadership and responsibility
⭐ Advisor recommendation
⭐ Availability to serve during conference activities
⭐ Commitment to professionalism and service

Responsibilities

Student Ambassadors may be assigned duties including, but not limited to:
⭐ Assisting with conference registration
⭐ Serving as room monitors, door monitors, or timekeepers
⭐ Assisting judges and event coordinators
⭐ Directing participants and guests
⭐ Supporting workshops and general sessions
⭐ Assisting with special events and conference activities
⭐ Providing general conference support as needed

Student Ambassadors are expected to remain professional, attentive, and engaged while performing their assigned responsibilities.

Expectations

Student Ambassadors must:
⭐ Attend all required training sessions and orientations.
⭐ Arrive on time for assigned duties.
⭐ Follow directions provided by conference staff and coordinators.
⭐ Refrain from using personal electronic devices while on duty unless authorized.
⭐ Serve as positive representatives of Mississippi Educators Rising.
⭐ Maintain professional dress and behavior throughout the conference.
⭐ Failure to fulfill assigned responsibilities may result in removal from Student Ambassador duties and forfeiture of recognition.

Eligibility and participation will be verified through:
⭐ Student Ambassador application records
⭐ Advisor approval
⭐ Conference registration records
⭐ Completion of assigned conference duties

Award Recognition

Students who successfully complete their assigned responsibilities will receive:
A Mississippi Educators Rising Student Ambassador Certificate
A Lapel Pin
Recognition during the Mississippi Educators Rising State Leadership Conference Awards Session
